Essential Job Functions and Duties:

This role provides high-quality care to clients seeking help with mental health disorders across the lifespan. Duties and job functions may include but is not limited to:

  • Assess, Diagnose, and Treat: Work with children, adolescents, adults, and elders to provide comprehensive mental health care.
  • Prescribe Medications: Utilize your expertise to manage treatment plans in accordance with Alaska’s Nurse Practice Act.
  • Collaborate: Partner with counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic client care.
  • Document Care: Ensure timely and accurate medical records, including assessments, treatment plans, and billing entries.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create individualized treatment plans that incorporate the latest best practices in mental health care.
  • Engage with Families: Communicate with guardians and significant others when appropriate, fostering a supportive network for your clients.
  • Order Tests: Utilize diagnostic tests to monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness.
Required Skills:
  • Technology literacy required
  • Strong documentation skills and experience navigating electronic health records.
  • Experience working with Telehealth technologies preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft teams considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritized tasks
  • Experience with child and youth therapy considered an asset, but not required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatry/mental health.
  • An unencumbered license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Alaska.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

  • Practice Specialties in Child/Youth, Family Counseling considered an asset.
  • A valid DEA number and no exclusions from federal health care programs.

Compensation: From $116,000.00 per year based on experience

Job Type: Open to both full-time or part-time arrangements
